Frequently Asked Questions

What items do I need to join the NWACO?

You will need to bring your own instrument and a binder for music. If you need to rent an instrument, we suggest using Palmer Violin Shop in Rogers, Arkansas.

What is the time commitment?

Rehersals are every Tuesday at First Baptist Church in Rogers, Arkansas. The first group meets from 5:00 - 6:20 PM. The second group meets from 6:30 - 8:00 PM. Consistent attendance is essential for individual progress, as well as for the strength and success of the entire orchestra. We ask that musicians commit to practice times and attending concerts.

Is there a fee to participate?

It costs $40/month to participate in the Northwest Arknasas Community Orchestra. This helps cover facility costs for rehersals, concerts, and events. If someone is unable to pay the $40/month fee, NWACO offers scholarships on an individual basis. Please contact NWACO for more informaiton about scholarships.

What should I prepare for the audition?

You may audition with any music of your choosing or ask for a teacher recommendaiton. You will see these choices when you sign up using the provided form. Please email members@nwaco.org for more information.
